From Mrs. Kurkiewicz, May 25th, 2017

It is certainly hard to believe that we are in the final days of the 2016 – 17 school year…but here we are! It has been a year of learning, growth and excitement. I hope that as we approach the last days of school and head into summer, you can take the time to cherish some of these special moments with your child. Please make sure that you look over the end of the year schedule that came home in the Thursday folder so you can take part in events such as our final Honors Mass and Last Day Picnic!
On another note, our school is continuing to grow and we will have new faces and new classroom arrangements when we return in the fall! St. Francis de Sales will be a busy place during the summer! As mentioned earlier, a new classroom will be built down in the area of the cafeteria where there is currently storage. We will also be added a “real wall” to Mrs. Medley’s classroom. The plan is to move the Kindergarten classroom into our “new” classroom near the cafeteria and grades 5 and 6 will return to Mrs. Langland’s classroom. The Fr. Szyma room will once again be a meeting room. We are also planning to finish the room next to Mr. Ocariz’s classroom. Third grade with Mrs. Kromer, will be in the classroom currently occupied by Kindergarten.
Also, please be sure to participate in our Summer Activity with “Flat St. Francis de Sales”! It should be a great way to stay connected as a school family throughout the summer! Watch for details to come…Students have been making their own “Flat St. Francis de Sales” which will come home.
I wish all of our students and families a summer filled with relaxation, excitement and growth. Remember to take time to enjoy the simple things with your children. They grow up all too fast…
We will celebrate the graduation of our 8th grade class on Saturday, June 3, so join us for that if you can and please take a minute to congratulate Mike, Anna, Noah, Liam and Tiffany on their graduation when you see them!
You are also receiving the school calendar for the coming year in your Thursday folder this week. Please take a moment to mark your calendar for the All School Picnic and Back to School Night on August 14 and an im-portant Parent meeting on August 30. Our first day of school on September 5, would also be good to note!
On that note, I am including a prayer for graduation…
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Kurkiewicz

Father, I have knowledge, so will You show me now, How to use it wisely and find a way somehow To make the world I live in a little better place, And make life with its problems a little bit easier to face. Grant me faith and courage and put purpose in my days, And show me how to serve Thee in effective ways. So my education, my knowledge and my skill May find their true fulfillment as I learn to do Thy will. And may I ever be aware in everything I do, That knowledge comes from learning, and wisdom comes from You. Amen.
